Some sketchs for the rumic mermaid au thingy!
this isn’t confirmation for anything just ideas I wanted to jot down here

-jariten and shippo meeting is labeled in my laptop as ‘sea brat meets land brat’ and it makes me laugh. Shippo is supposed to be like flounder but like he’s still jariten so he has opinions on this Ataru Moroboshi that his dear cousin has fallen for. Shippo does play a part but shh spoilers

-Kagome’s here! cause like as if i’ll miss the opportunity to write some inukag stuff. Kagome is the new head of the shrine in the kingdom and she’s doing her best as the one in charge despite feeling like maybe sakura sensei should have chosen someone else. Thanks to the prince not many people are seeking the advice of priestess so its a hard time for kagome. What she doesn’t know tho is that she has gained quite the reputation of helping out any supernatural creatures and has become famous because of it that may have helped gained the attention of a certain sea dog. Currently her biggest worries is trying to keep the shrine afloat and hoping that her good friend Ataru will just settle down with a nice girl already. Boy is she gonna be surprised by lum

-Ranma and akane looking pretty fancy and concerned over whatever is happening. They both along with kagome a little act as the Grimsby to Ataru’s prince eric in that they all ship Ataru x lum the mute girl pretty hard and try to push him towards that direction instead of chasing a girl who might not even be real oh boy. Ranma is pretty much Ataru’s only guy friend and one of the best guards in mendou’s army. He is a very skilled fighter but has not been allowed to move up rank. Akane meanwhile is also a skilled fighter but is just a lady in waiting being made to serve any rich party guests. This is all due to the man named tatewaki kuno who is still very bitter about his enemy winning the girl he claimed and now uses his position as head of mendou’s to be a thorn in the couple’s side. And that’s all im gonna say

btw since the story takes place I think 1837 the clothes are gonna be like that mixed with some feudal era stuff

every good fairytale needs some royalty so heres the handsome prince, shutaro mendou!

Prince shutaro mendou is everything a any girl would kill for; insanely rich, handsome, smart, fit, and cultured. All the pros seem to over shadow any negative qualities he may have, though if you ask any one on the low totem pole on his work force they can easily list all the cons. Mendou is a prince that only looks for the best and won’t settle for anything less or ridiculous like believing in the folktales of beings that live under the sea. He heavily discourages those tales and believes in looking away from those beliefs. He currently is looking for the most beautiful woman to share that belief and to stay in his castle forever as his wife and he’ll do anything to accomplish that goal.

ah yes we finally got our prince type in this story and of course its mendou like how could I not. I have some ideas for him that I think ya’ll will enjoy

if you are wondering why this isn’t colored, the cord that connects to the laptop to my Wacom tablot is kinda messed up so I need to replace it but I haven’t gotten around it

so yeah until that gets resolved expect a lot of sketchs instead

back on my mermaid au mountain as I present you the flotsam and jetsam of this au, Ran and Renge!! beautiful as these girls are you definitely don’t want to meet them in a dark alleyway, or in this case a cave?

a lot of work went into this one but I think this turn out well, especially the potion bottle subtle brag, I wished I made ran’s jellyfish a bit bigger tho.

in the au sabato would probably have his badness taken up some notches, to the point where lowkey he would have pleasant tea parties with naraku levels of bad, which would mean that these girls would have more story to them about why they stay to work with him, besides money of course.

im sorry I just really like making art for the au, plus you gotta know how they’re all gonna look right? ran is a jellyfish and renge is a dolphin if you were wondering

I love it cause appearance they look sweet but can be quite nasty

this au is getting the alternate title of ‘Yuta suffers but in a different way than he’s usual’ right @artistefish ?

whats not seen is lum and ranma being extra about their womb babies; first ultra sound vs being pregnant times 2

Yuta was not expecting this call out and like oh god do we actually look like that?

mao and Yuta seem like they’d be friends, ya know cause they’re both old immortal men? I just think they would get along and talk a lot ya know?

idk if its confirmed that Yuta and mana are together for this au but for the joke lets say they’re not.

meet the newest lifeguard!!

more stuff for @artistefish fisherman and I remember how I added that shiori was a part of the lifeguards there with Yuta and mana and this is just them welcoming their newest and youngest member.

while I don’t think theres a specific timeframe of when the au takes place, I did model the swim suits here after Baywatch so take that as you will.

I imagine that because she’s so little they try to keep her away from the main action and her make shields only, when she gets older they’ll start training her.

Meet the grumpy bodyguard who did not sign up for having his friend making a sketchy deal for some guy on the surface, Inuyasha!

aka where my weird rumic world/little mermaid au needs some more art for it, needed to showoff how the characters look, and lowkey was an excuse for me to try and practice drawing muscles-I mean what?

Inuyasha has very little faith in a romance between a human and mermaid, wonder why, but he really wants for lum to succeed.

even though he is going to complain through the whole way through, he still has her back and will have a bigger role than Sebastian in helping her.

that being said, when/if I get to writing this thing, I promise there will be no singing scenes, amusing as it is to imagine Inuyasha singing sebastian’s songs it’s just not gonna happen

but hey I ain’t gonna stop anyone from drawing it themselves

I think I said it before but he is fish part is a great white, but red although the more I look at it the more it looks like a surfboard and hey I dig it.

Anyway she mentioned somewhere that the uy crew got put under the spell like just before they graduated. So that means I had to make it like a kim possible situation where the craziest shit happens before they can leave highschool

This is just my interpretation of what might have happened idk we haven’t gotten to this part of the story yet

sorry Ataru you live in a comedy anime which means the stars and planets need to align before you can accomplish anything

no this isn’t a reveal on what else was going, I just wanted to add Ataru’s feelings cause it just made it funnier to me

Look since we all agree that lum and Inuyasha has a more sibling like relationship then we should add to it like teasing. You can’t be siblings if you don’t make fun of each others crushes

just a little comic on how lum and inuyasha’s relationship works with her a princess and him her bodyguard

yes this is before she made a bad deal with sabato and before Inuyasha got some human legs

while Inuyasha has not met kagome officially, she is well known around the supernatural world and he may or may not have checked on her from afar

btw Inuyasha’s tail is of a great white shark, except ya know red and the thing wrapped around his waist is a dagger from his dad

there is a story on why Inuyasha is her bodyguard as well as his own story

And heres a rumic world au story that I have been dying to write about, a rumic world/ the little mermaid au!

although I guess this would have to be called the littlest oni instead

Princess lum is the daughter of king invader under the sea where all sorts of monsters live in with her baby cousin jariten, as flounder, and bodyguard Inuyasha, who is taking the place of Sebastian. As much as she had everything a girl could want, she wanted the one thing she was forbidin from, the surface world. One day however she stumbled upon a princes birthday on a boat, and instead of falling for the prince, who is mendou and was too busy admiring his statue and being a major tool, she fell for one of the sailor men working hard to keep the boat moving and keeping a certain fox kit from being spotted, Ataru Moroboshi. A terrible storm comes through however that destroys the boat and would have killed him if she hadn’t swam in to save him. She gets him to shore and quickly swims away, not noticing that he may have caught a glimpse of his savior. She falls for him so hard that she makes a deal with one of the most dangers people in the sea, sabato rokudo and his two hench women renge and ran cause we all gotta pay the bills somehow. So yes lum gets to be a human but with a catch that she has 3 weeks to make him fall in love with her or lose her soul to sabato. So know she’s on a time crunch to make her darling fall in love with a girl who doesn’t have a voice, while Ataru who is still realing from his near death and mystery girl who saved him has to help this poor mute girl around while also keeping her away from mendou in the process.

ranma and akane are also there as Ataru’s friends/grimsbly who also helps him with things. They both play a part into Mendou’s kingdom but they ain’t friends

Inuyasha gets his own story as well and gets legs while working with the local priestess to keep an eye on lum as well trying to make sure lum keeps her deal and try to fix another part of the deal that she didn’t know about

rinne and sakura would also play a part here 

might even include other rumic characters who knows

if ya can’t tell lum’s mermaid part is an eel so theres that. I’ll probably end up drawing the other fish folk soon so look out for that

I think it was establish that Yuta and mana are like the life guards for the town, and I love that but I also like to think on occasion he gets put in charge of the town since he’s oldest and stuff

These residents however make him feel his age and god Inuyasha give up on the idea already, its not even a good name

Now im not saying Inuyasha is the most dramatic boy, that award goes to ranma on being number 1 drama queen, but he is the most likely to blow things out of proportion, so trying to get a majority vote on a name he picked out is definitely in his mo

Don’t worry ya’ll kosaku( from one pound gospel) isn’t trying to steal mana, they’re food buddies who love it when town meetings go off the rails cause then no one notices them eating during them
